Our Focus Areas

Linde Foundation, a registered public charitable trust in India, represents the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Linde India Limited, Praxair India Private Limited and Linde South Asia Services Private Limited.
Over the years, our charitable contributions and volunteerism have been focused in the following areas.
Healthcare: Promoting preventive healthcare and sanitation and creating awareness.
Education: Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocational skills among children, women and the differently abled; livelihood enhancement projects; monetary contributions to academic institutions for infrastructure upgrade with the objective of assisting students in their studies.
Environmental: Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection flora and fauna, conservation of natural resources.
Community Support: Strengthening rural and remote areas by improving accessibility, drinking water, sanitation, power, thereby creating sustainable communities.
Livelihood: To promote alternate livelihoods and vocational skills amongst under-privileged and/or differently abled group of community.
The Linde Foundation is currently providing funds/ grants for project that are undertaken by various implementing partners. Some of these projects are:
Education: Linde Foundation supports the cause of education of underprivileged children in India, with the broader aim of community development.
- Higher education scholarship program for talented students
Linde Foundation is currently sponsoring the education of 20 academically gifted and financially deserving students in India who are pursuing degrees in Engineering (BE)/Technology (BTech). Through this project, the financial scholarship awards help not only the students but also their families to focus on their career and boost the socio-economic trajectory.
- Helping underprivileged children go to school
In association with Social Action for Manpower Creation (SAMPARC), Linde Foundations is helping team SAMPARC (through the Community Education Support Initiative) in ensuring quality education, especially in subjects such as Mathematics, Science and English, to 202 rural students from 7 selected villages from a financially backward community of Maval block in Pune district, Maharashtra.
Healthcare: All members of the community have the right to receive appropriate healthcare. However, access to the facilities still remains a challenge for millions of people from underprivileged background. Linde Foundation through its various initiatives hopes to improve the access to high quality healthcare to those in need.
- Healing
hearts: a new lease on life
Linde Foundation has granted funds to Kuppuswamy Naidu Charity Trust For Education And Medical Relief, to help with expenses towards the surgeries of children with congenital heart defects from families whose monthly income does not exceed INR20,000. The project “Tiny Healing Hearts” has helped reach numerous babies in need at the G.K. Naidu Memorial Hospital, Coimbatore.
- Helping children with special needs
Linde Foundation has been providing funds to the well-known Spastics Society of Karnataka (SSK). The funds are to help provide additional rehabilitation support to beneficiaries and families of the children with disabilities who cannot visit the organizational campus at Bangalore. Through this project, we have sponsored need-based virtual consultations with senior rehabilitation professionals like special educators, physiotherapist, speech therapists, medico social workers and doctors based at the SSK’s main campus in Bangalore.
Environment: We have only one Earth to live in and we share it with all other beings. Protecting and preserving our only home stands foremost in our list of priorities at Linde. We leave no stone unturned to ensure that our activities do not cause undue harm to nature.
- Environmental conservation though community empowerment
In Giridih and Chakardharpur villages in Jharkhand, Linde Foundation introduced the Sustainable Ecosystem Conservation and Enhancement project in partnership with the NGO Savera Foundation. The project aims to revive natural water resources, improve availability of water and contribute to mitigation of soil erosion. This is achieved through the participation of the local communities and serves to maintain ecological balance in the region and fosters a clean and green future.
- Mangrove restoration for disaster relief and livelihood support
In collaboration with the NGO Sandeshkhali Maa Saroda Women & Rural Welfare Society, Linde Foundation is working on a project for restoration of mangroves in Sunderbans, West Bengal. The plantation of mangrove saplings serves dual purpose. First, it helps in holding the soil and creating a green barrier, and the rehabilitation of the degraded forests in north Sunderbans. This green barrier protects against the devastating effects of natural disasters like cyclones. Second, it helps improve the economic conditions of the local communities involved in the plantation process and provide opportunities of income through associated activities like fishing.
Community Support: The
communities where we live, and work help us sustain our growth. Our efforts
toward giving back to the society involves active volunteering by our people and
lending our know-how to community betterment projects.
- Pursuit for safer Indian roads
Linde Foundation in partnership with the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC), setup under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, has launched the Driver Upskilling and National Skill Qualification Framework (Skill India) Certification Programme. This is aimed at providing the drivers community with rigorous training and certification to enhance their skills, qualification, and road safety practices. The Biker Awareness project targets promotion of road safety among two-wheeler drivers through engaging campaigns and events.
- Helping community animals live better
In collaboration with Charlie’s Animal Rescue Center (CARE), Linde Foundation supports the care of stray and abandoned animals rescued at the NGO. Hundreds of animals meet with accidents in the streets of the city every day and lose their lives due to the lack of on-time medical care. The “Paws for a Cause” project helps to provide the best possible and prompt medical aid to the sick and injured street animals of Bangalore City. Many street animals are rescued and with dedicated treatment, oxygen therapy, supplements, painkillers, antibiotics, are relived of their pain and helped with their healthy recovery.
